1. In the project-based skills competition of 2007,
which was held in Çankırı Governorate, a project from ÇVHS
had got the first prize. The project involved a PLC
controlled system that can differentiate coloured pieces
on a tape. The project which was carried out by our
students, İbrahim Genç, Murat Yiğit and Yasin Dağlı; got
the third prize in the upper competition among the
governorate representatives of the Central Anatolia Region
of Turkey. The advisory board included our teachers H.
Erdoğan, İsmail Çolakoğlu and Ramazan Kuşoğlu from
Electronics and MT Departments.
The project was detailed like this: A mechanism,
consisting of electropnomatics and PLC remote controller,
pushes the colored pieces onto a tape revolved by an
electroengine, by means of a cylander. The coloured pieces
that have reached on to the tape, while moving to the tape,
are sensed by colour sensors and electricity signals reach
at cylander next to them. At this moment, movement of the
tape is stopped by using the PLC sensor and later on the
colored piece that comes in front of the cylander is
pushed by a piston into a container. And the colourless
pieces that we called as fashion are not sensed by the
colour sensors and they drop in the required box at the
far end of the tape.
2. The project named as “ Computer- controlled
Local Heating” performed by a team from Electronics
Department represented Çankırı Governorate in Ankara, the
capital in the Project- based Skills Competition of 2008.
3. The project- Computer-controlled Visual
Exploration had got the second prize the Project-based
Skills Competition of 2008 in Çankırı Governorate.
Achievements in Sports
Every year, ÇVHS teams take part in the sports tournaments
in the various branches of soccer, basketball, volleyball,
handball, wrestling, athletics and table tennis. They have
attained several prizes within or out of Çankırı
Governorate. For years, our soccer and volleyball teams
have been gaining the first prizes in the governorate.
One of the most spectacular sports accomplishments of our
school happened in 1980 and in the following two years.-
Two of our wrestlers became champions of Turkey. These
were Ayvaz Kütük, a 48 kg wrestler, in free style, and
Ayhan Karşıkaya, a heavy-weighed greco-roman wrestler.
Later on, they entered Turkish National Wrestling Team and
represented our school and our country abroad. Following
is the list of some of ÇVHS’s achievements in sports:
2006- 2007 Educational Year:
-The third place in the soccer championship among the high
schools of Çankırı Governorate
-The third place in crossing race among the high school
racers in Çankırı Governorate
-The third place in the table tennis championship among
the high schools of Çankırı Governorate
-The third place in the volleybal championship among the
high schools of Çankırı Governorate
-ÇVHS was represented individually in the young and stars
wresling categories in Çankırı Governorate
Some of the Projects carried out by our Students
1. A project from Electronics Department
Name of the project: A central heating system that is
controlled by a computer
Students involved in the project: T. Karahasan, Muhittin
Çapar, E. Ödemiş
Advisory Board: H. Erdoğan, C. Öztürk, İ. Asiltürk
Aims: To use the energy efectively in the centrally heated
buildings and to save the local energy sources, to reduce
the demand energy import and, as a result to cause to
consume less fuel and to reduce the negative effects of
harmful emissions to the environment.
Objectives: By making use of energy more productively,
reducing the consumption of imported energy in Turkey;
reducing the pollution of environment as result of a
balanced consumption of national sources; with the
precautions to be taken, reducing the need of energy for
heating a unit of an area or a volume.
This project was chosen to be third in its category in the
Project-based Skills Competition of 2008 in Çankırı
Governorate.
2. A project from IT Department
Name of the project: Monitoring and Exploration Vehicle
with a Computerised Camera
Students that were involved in the project: İ Şentürk, S.Kimir,
M.Akça
Advisory Teacher: Ö. Çınar
Aim of the project: To develop a vehicle with a movement
system that can advance at any kind of rough ground
condition and can collect information about the
environment that can have dangerous aspects for humans.
Technical Features of the Vehicle:
Tires and Reductors: The vehicle we have developed had 8
caterpillar tires and 4 DC engines powering them. The
bystanding engines were connected to each other paralelly.
Power and Energy Unit: There were a 6V/2.5 A and a 9V
charged battery mounted on the vehicle as energy sources.
The 6V battery provides the needed power for the engines.
A Circuit of Receiver and Power Controller : RF modules
that were developed by a Turkish Firm called UDEA were
mounted on the vehicle to catch the radio signals that
were to be sent from the computer. The signals which were
caught by these modules were interpreted by a PIC16f628
microsupervisor. To drive the DC engines and to transfer
the needed power, a vehicle power driving integral called
L298 had been used.
A Wireless Camera: A wireless camera that can transmit the
images to the computer simultaneously was also mounted on
the vehicle. The images that were received from the camera
could be recorded either in picture or in video format.
A PC Software: With the help of a software written in
DELPHI programming language , the images from the
vehicle’s camera were received and recorded as photos or
videos and the vehicle was controlled remotely.
This project was chosen to be second in its own category
in the Project-based Skills Competition of 2008 in Çankırı
Governorate.
